“Loyalty Day” 2017

Loyalty Day Proclamation

This is not a joke. I wish it was.

The president has proclaimed that the first day of May, 2017 is “Loyalty Day.”

Where do we begin with revisions because, as it is, it is all wrong? How about at “under God.” That has to go (though the reasons should be obvious, The First Amendment to The Constitution).

How about as a world leader (certainly not “the world’s leader”) in upholding the ideals of freedom, equality, and justice.” We aren’t even trying anymore. Ask the innocent people in our over-crowded prisons, the black and brown people of our country, the women, the LGBTQ citizens, our non-Christians, our poor, our veterans.

Considering that we are having some serious problems with defending from “enemies,” especially domestic ones, 45 will want to check the wording on that. Ask anyone who has lost a family member to a fellow citizen that should not have had access to a firearm.

If you’ve been paying any attention at all you’ll notice that “limited government” has been taken too far recently and in the past. Limited government was good until it was so limited it lead to Bush’s deregulation helping to get us into a serious recession (and plenty more ways the government could have and should have kept an eye on things but did not). Our current president is working on gutting regulations protect our water and air, and he’s also working on giving public lands away to private businesses. He’s working on removing options for affordable health care and booting more than 24 million Americans off their health care with no replacement.  It’s a shame that we can’t trust ourselves and each other to be responsible, but we’ve proven time and again that we can’t.

Speaking of shame and trust, I don’t want to hear one more fucking word about dignity or respect or protecting and defending the Constitution from a man and an administration who are working very hard to hurt Americans in any way they can. For personal gain. This man has no respect for facts, for the people of this country, for our laws, or for our Constitution. He has no use for any of us beyond what he wants and what he can take.

Screw it. He can do the whole thing over. It’s wrong. Better yet, the president can shove this proclamation, his border wall, his greed, his hate, his bigotry, his lies, and his hypocrisy up his ass.
