Here we go again. Our civil rights are again being challenged by our own representatives in government. How are we ever going to move forward when we keep having to go back and protect what is ours? what we’ve already established?
On 12 January 2017, Representative Steve King (R-IA) introduced #HR490, also known as the Heartbeat Protection Act of 2017.
Even though a woman’s right to privacy and to choose has already been established by Roe v. Wade (1973) with a 7-2 decision, states and the federal government have been challenging the decision since then. Lately, there have been bills passed that limit women’s rights in clear violation of the previous decision. These are unconstitutional, but the process is slow. Meanwhile, in the United States in the year 2017 – and I can’t believe I have to once again bring up how badly we are sliding backward as a nation – women face the very real possibility of having a pregnancy they need or want to discontinue killing them. And it’s nobody else’s business what they need or want, least of all the government’s.
Here are the people who are (again) trying to make our business their business:
They are all Republicans, of course: Ron Desantis (FL), Trent Franks (AZ), Louie Gohmert (TX), Karen Handel (GA), and Steve King (IA). You have their names, and you know their intent. Call them (202-224-3121). NOW. The meeting is next week. Tell them to mind their own business. Tell them to stand up for our rights. The 20-week abortion ban from Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ) (yeah, that fucking guy again) already passed the House. This is happening. It’s urgent.
Tell them all to vote NO on an abortion ban.
(I’m not going into the details or complaining any further about what a bunch of hypocritical shitbags these people are. You probably know it already. The basics are here, what they’re doing, how to stop them. Links below if you’ve missed out on the erosion of our rights. We need to get the GOP out of our business and out of our government. Yesterday.)
Side note: what do you want to bet these are more of the people trying to take the country down using their religion as a guide?

You’ll probably be seeing this kind of post again. We need to call often. They need to leave our bodies and our rights alone. They’re none of their business.
