End of Year 2019

I was wondering aloud to my husband about why people keep saying they hated the final Star Wars (Skywalker) movie and why so many make ridiculous, dramatic claims about it ruining their lives or being the worst thing ever, and he brought up a criticism about the movie: they did Rose wrong. It struck me as odd because, to me, the movies are about the main four characters (Ben, Finn, Poe, and Rey) and the three from the old guard who have been sort of handing over the reins. There are other individuals like Chewy, Rose, and R2 who come and go in each of their lives as they move from job to job and goal to goal. That’s how it works in real life, too. Even when people don’t need us in the moment, we are still there for them. We all have scenes, and otherwise, we’re doing stuff with other people, too. Our adventures don’t always feature the same cast.

I don’t do New Year’s resolutions – why set myself up for failure? – but I continue on my path. A few years ago, I took a step back to see what I believe the world needed most, and I’ve set out to give more of that. In my case, I see that we are missing truth and love so I do what I can to contribute both.

Whatever you’re doing, and whoever you’re with, I hope you are happy and healthy and doing the best you can. It’s all any of us can do. Wishing you truth, love, and hope in the coming year.

(I’ve been off researching, putting out metaphorical fires, stressing over family health stuff, relaxing a little, and getting married. More soon. Love to all!)
